blankets.

I was reading a little bit of Blankets before class. I read the part where Craig and Raina see each other for the first time since winter camp.

It’s their embrace that gets me. Thompson draws the scene so tenderly you can feel the heat of the moment radiating off of the page. Their embrace is wonderful and awkward and beautiful. It’s the most passionate kind of hug possible.

I lingered on that page for a while this morning.
