Our ears were ringing as we made our way out of the crowded school parking lot, and began the long trek to our car, carefully maneuvering through the throngs of people that filled both lanes of the road. As we walked, I found myself next to Tanya. “What did you think of that?” I asked. Her eyes widened, and she said “It was so magical. It really was.”
And she was right. It was magical (as millie would say, it is REAL magic). For a few moments we all sit together, thousands of us, watching stars twist and turn their way up into the sky on a journey that ends in a thunderclap and a million colors. Our brains rattle inside our heads, our ear drums ache, our eyes squint at the bright light. It is glorious.
